This linen turban is inspired from the beautiful and painstaking process of transforming flax into fabric. The linen is dyed with black walnut and scattered with hand-painted “flax seeds” made from black dye paste. It is draped and hand-sewn to suggest a quilted, antique quality.
The red scarf is recycled, natural Icelandic wool from a second-hand sweater. It was slowly dyed over a wood fire using vinegar and madder for two days in order to preserve the high quality and softness of the wool.
